At the Society's January meeting, Dan Alvarez Garza presented an excellent program about one of his ancestors, Francisca Alvarez, the Angel of Goliad. After researching his sources of information, he wrote this book and discovered Francisca's contributions to the Texas Revolution and the soldiers she impacted. He wrote about her relationships to the Apache, the family of General Urrea, and Telesforo Alvarez. In his talk Mr. Garza shared many details of Francisca's life and the value of her actions during the Texas Revolution. To purchase a copy of his book, text or call Mr. Garza at 281-831-1055.
